Default Over Boost/No Boost steering...

Recently, my steering has been misbehaving. I need to make a tight turn when pulling out of my garage. Sometimes the wheel is over boosted (normal) and sometimes it is like driving a manual steer truck. The steering is OK at speed. There are no unusual sounds, well at least, at the moment.

Any ideas on what is going on?

Could the 605 relay be flaky? How does one test it? Also I have heard people replacing the 605 with a 628 relay to get lightly boosted steering. Will this work on our C4's?

Try simply pulling the relay to see how it behaves. Both my wife and I prefer no relay at all, especially since our other car is a manual steering Miata.
