Default Remote upgrading??

Hi

My 94 100 has a normal key with seperate remote (factory fitted). I was wondering if its possible to replace it with one of the newer flip key all in one remotes? It would be great to be able to have one!! Anyone have any ideas or clues on how I could do this?

Thanks

Default The flip keys have the newer 'sidewinder' cut. 1997+ can typically be converted to flip keys

I've done it on one of mine.

Since my car is 1994 therefore it isn't able to be converted? Did I get it right? My remote only has one button for opening and closing.

Default Technically, the FCC ID number is what determines which remote can be used with which receiver

at least here in the US. There is a little bit of cross-over between several of them.

However, it may be different in South Africa because the FCC is one of our federal agencies.

search "fcc id" for more info.

Does your remote have FCC ID stamped anywhere when you separate it into 2 parts to change out the batteries?

Unfortunatey not. All it says is Conlog and there is a sticker that says P15. I doubt that is of any help. Did go to an Audi dealer but they weren't at all interested. Probably thought I was being ridiculous trying to get a flip key for my "old" model Audi!!

Default The other thing some of the archived posts say is to remove the back seat

and examine the remote control receiver unit. may need to be removed and flipped over to see the spec. typically the numbers on the remote should match numbers on the reciever.

you might try some of the Euro Ebay sites to see if P15 matches anything.
