Sedan/Avant bumper grilles interchangeable?

Wow.... I just re-registered because I haven't posted in about two years. I can't believe how much the C4 section has shrunk!! I'm trying to secure the driver side section of the front bumper grill for my '96 A6 Avant. I've located an aftermarket supplier who has the grill for the sedan but they're trying to tell me that it won't fit the Avant! I know the bumper covers are the same so I'm having a hard time believing that the grilles would be different. I'm thinking that it's a mistake in their listing and the operators don't know anything about what they're selling except what they see on the screen. Any grille savvy C4 people out there?

I'm almost positive the grills are the same, you can verify on genuinevwaudiparts.com by checking part #s. This place is deadsville because everyone went to QW when they switched to this horrible forum software.
