Squeaky Squeaky Squeaky
this is what my wife was singing as she told me how the A6 sounded on her way home, and yes my kids love dora the explorer..
So I take it for a drive and sure enough Squeaky Squeaky Squeaky is right. Why women wait till things are this bad to say something I don't know..
I'm guessing its the control arm or sway bar bushing but can't really tell, I also notice there is constant air coming from the vents when the car is moving and the check engine light was on. EGR insufficient flow something something..
Is a bushing kit available or do I just have to buy each one..

I think your A6 front suspension is the same as my 92 100CS. New control arms cost about $180 for each side. I would only replace them if the ball joint was bad.
There is a bushing available for the inner control arm. It's a pita to get the old ones out but you can do it and save a little money over having the shop press them out. The new ones must be pressed in by a shop unless you happen to have a hydraulic press in your garage.
There is a metal sleeve that goes inside the bushing that aligns the bushing/bolt to the subframe. If that is worn, replace it at the same time you replace the bushings.
Change the bushings where the sway bar attached to the control arm also. I doubt bushings where the sway bar mounts to the front are bad, but once both control arms are off, you can rotate it up and down and feel for any play.

control arms are $110 for the arm, sway bar bushing, lower ball joint, and inner bushing
Don't screw around with pressing the inner bushing out. $110 for the whole deal isn't bad.<ul><li><a href="http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/sjm/022805/quote.jsp?clientid=sjm&cookieid=1KJ0Y2GVJ1KJ0Y 2PBC&baseurl=http://www.sjmauto.com/&partner=sjm&year=1994&product=L200 0-64113&application=000348934">clicky</a></l

It seems all the sounds are comming from the rear of the car
maybe worn shocks or rear bushings..
I'll have to look into it later
since my car is on the operating table
right now

Guess I don't understand the seat belt rattle thing. My second row seat belts, when not in use, are under a slight bit of tension, up to down, and they don't rattle at all. For those of you reporting the rattle, are your second row belts fully retracting after your kids exit the car?
