Default Sort of an open ended question.

The stock bose is not that bad, but depending on the model kenwood and what you are going to install with it, the kenwood MIGHT be better.

The kenwood will not connect right up and work with any of the bose stuff, it will require an entire revamp of the system. Are you up to it?

I have installed about 6 complete stereo systems this year but i really hesitate on tearing out a Bose system The deck i have is one of Kenwood's newest tape decks with the 6 CD-changer option.
and isn't the deal with Bose it the speakers are ok to keep but you can not use a Bose stereo with other speakers?

Default The Bose speakers have individual amps in the doors and other strange things.

Which makes them difficult to use with an after-market head unit. The speakers themselves are also 2-ohm IIRC. I'd stick with the Bose if you are hesitant, as it'll require ripping out all the bose, installing speakers into the bose speaker pods with new wiring all around or hacking up the original wiring harness. If you think you can do that then go to town.

Default STFA, islingtonaudi and i have many posts on the stereos

i thought my sub tapped into the hi-lo converter line in to the rear stock sub sounded good, until i tore out the 10 year old worn out bose system and put in 4 new speakers, deck, and my subs. sounds 4028x better. IMO.
