Using info here I removed the tailgate trim on my A6 Avant. Took the car for a ride with the trim off. Tailgate still squeaks like crazy. Put it all back together with epoxy, metal strips etc. Nothing is moving on the trim. Tailgate still squeaks on very slightly bumpy pavement. Is there a way to adjust the tailgate movement so this won't happen?

not sure you can adjust the stops on the locking mechanism, I looked at it to try and line up my tail lights better, seemed un-doable but maybe someone here has a secret to share.

try silicone spray on the rubber seals, and lube the latch points

The wiper motor assembly, the nuts that hold the lenses on, etc?

I fixed the squeaking!. I wrapped some rubber tubing and glued it around the bars that the tailgate latches grab. There was some thin rubber there, but it was mostly worn away. Now the gate itself doesn't squeak, and I had already fixed all the trim that was loose.
