Default Transmission fluid line couplings

I disconnected the lines that take the transmission fluid from the tranny to the tranny cooler on a '94 Audi 100 cs. I think somewhere in my working on the car, the lines got bent, and now I can't figure out which lines are supposed to get connected together. There's only two possible choices. Does it matter if I hook them up backwards? Does anyone have any info on this, or a picture of the lines? Seems simple enough, but it has me stumped.

Which end of the lines (tranny or cooler) are asking about?

Default In between

Right between the cooler and the tranny, almost right in the middle, is a coupling. I believe it's right over the sway bar. I disconnected the lines at that coupling.
