Transmission Level Dipstick
Although I ended up getting it from World Impex because Blaufernugen no longer carries it, Blaufernugen shows the following listing for the transmission dipstick on early C4's:
"01F 321 431A trans level dipstick- 92-94 1C/1CQ with 4 spd auto trans (only for checking level, must remove after each use)"
Why do they specify that the dipstick be removed after each use?

My guess is that it might interfer w/ some moving part. I don't have one, but the Bentley Manual...
states to remove plug, and check ATF level with the dipstick and engine cold (meaning not running). Then to check it warm, it states to warm the ATF to 60-80 C (140 - 176 F), and then check w/ dipstick - again silent about engine running, but it appears to mean motor not running.
