What's this?
The following are graphic images of a vacuum link to an unknown engine component. Any resemblance to any vehicles you know is purely coincidental.
Anyone know what this vacuum line does?

Broken hose is manifold vacuum connection
Where you are pointing (broken) is connection to intake manifold. This is where it picks up manifold vacuum. Manifold vacuum varies due to throttle position, and load on engine. It then branches. One side goes to fuel pressure regulator (on fuel rail), other side goes (I think) to electrically operated valve which controlls EGR valve. I bet you currently are setting a code for EGR low signal. (my guess)

Any reason for this to cause the car to not start?
I was fiddling with some plugs to track down wires to the ECU and when I finished; the car wouldn't start.
Engine spins, but no starty firey.
