Wrecked the Audi Tueday night : (

Coming back from Anchorage Tuesday after surgery to repair a cut tendon in my finger. We were 65 miles from home and something broke on the drivers side wheel, causing us to slam into a snowbank and launch across a side road, then hit an 8 foot berm causing the car to go vertical on its nose and then sliding to a stop on the side of the road. We went into the snow where my Yukon is in the background. My family walked away with minor injuries. PRETTY LUCKY! I'm glad I was in an Audi!

I checked the tie rod and it was ...
OK, the CV joint was torn out of the tranny and the spring / strut was broken, so I don't know if it happened before or after. Everything up front is thrashed. So pinpointing the exact cause, will be pretty tough. I'm thanking God my family wasn't hurt. All the stuff in the back hit the back seat and it folded forward squishing my son. Luckily he had a bunch of pillows surrounding him. I was really surprised the airbags didn't deploy. Although my wife and I probably would have been hurt from them. I was holding on to the dash with the hand I just had surgery on and her, being so small and close to the steering wheel it wouldn't have been good. I wish I had bought a dog barrior/ cage for the back, then we wouldn't have had so many flying projectiles. A bottle of juice flew by my head and broke the windshield! We are definitely lucky to walk away from this one!
