Default "raced" a pretty new 1.8T yesterday

I think it was a 2001? And also there were 3-4 people in the car. Plus I think it was the automatic model. But here goes the story.
The light we were sitting at has been red for a while, all his passengers are looking over at my car. (his age was about 20) So the light turn yellow for the other road and I see the 1.8T start to inch forward. Now he's in a car 20years younger than mine and he has to inch forward?! Whatever I said. I let him inch forward and by the time the light turns green for us, he's halfway over the white line. We both go open throttle. And the 4000 actually kept up with the 1.8T through second gear. I was pretty shocked to say the least.
And I'm thinking, had the turbo been complete on my car... I wouldv'e out torqued him and quite possibly have come out first.
More reason to finish project turbo.

Default 90hp and 2200lbs. versus 180hp and 4000lbs. simple math!!

You were closely matched because of his weight handicap!

Default his is fwd- 2250lbs.. the quattros are 2800

just out of curiosity though, my stock 5cyl is supposed to be 115hp, 126 torque. thats what it says in the manual. now, taking into account the free flow exhaust and the opened intake, maybe the timing advance, have those #s improved any? i was under the impression that freeing the intake and exhaust adds 10%, putting me to 126hp and 139 torque. that seems high considering from what ive read on this forum, the most you can squeeze out of the 10V NA is about 150hp with intake, exhaust, cam and a port and polish. im just curious what kind of power im actually getting. theres a dyno close to me, 60 bucks an hour, if i remove the driveshaft and lock the center diff, can i dyno it? it might be kinda dumb, were talking 10 hp here and there but itd be neat to know.
