Has anyone swapped a 1.8T from an A4 into the 4KQ? Would it be a direct bolt up?

You will need the correct mounts and block along with a radiator setup from a FWD 4-cyl 4000, details are at the link. One thing that is not clarified at that link is mating the engine with the 016 transmission in the 4kq, you might have to swap in a later TORSEN unit or source a 4-cyl quattro transmission from a european Audi 80q.
