Default 4 cyl head

I have decided to buy a 4 cyl head and refurb it completely...anyone have one for sale? Also, since I'm replacing the head, are there any other things I should be replacing and/or looking at when I'm in there? I probably won't get around to it until mid Jan, but I'm about ready to buy the head. Thoughts/ comments are welcome.

Default Re: head work

If you are replacing the head, you might was well do the timing belt/water pump even if they are only 30k miles old. I take it you're already planning on new valve guides and seals and all the gaskets so you may also want to consider some mild milling (fixes any warps and gives compression a bump). I'd also look at the FI rubber and header for cracks while the head is off and do a new thermostat. You can also have some mild porting done to remove any ridges and to better match the intake manifold to the head. Last, I would follow Dan Garza's lead and paint everything a very cool color (do the valve cover in anything other than black).

Default Re: 4 cyl head

I have a 4cyl head of an 85 4k, I started to disassemble it for a rebuild but never got around to it, valves and lifters are all out and i have them all boxed up. I would let it go cheap.
