I've just bought an '86 4kq and I have noticed a slight hesitation during acceleration. I only notice it in 1st gear coming off the clutch. If I ride the clutch and let it out at a higher RPM it doesn't do it. But under normal driving it bogs out until about 1500-2000RPM then it's fine. Help!

Sounds like the spark is breaking down under load. You can look at the color of the plugs but given the car is new to you, I'd replace the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. If it still hesitates, I'd clean up the throttle body and the airflow plate and replace the air filter next. You should also check the timing too.
