Default 4k to 4kq front sway bar update

Hi All,
Picked up a complete 4kg sway bar yesterday and installed it. The 2 bars are nearly identical, but the link ends are at different angles. Not sure what year this 4kq bar was out of, but it had middle bushings that were simply flat on the back where they contact the front subframe. The brackets for them had only one bolt holt and a hook that engaged the front subframe at the other. This was different to the set up in my 87 4k, which has 2 bolts for the middle brackets and the bushings pooch out in back where they go into recesses in the subframe.

Anyway, it mounted up fine. I used the 4kq link ends, as the 4k ones weren't angled right. I used the 4k middle brackets, but with the 4kq bushings. It mounted up nice and snug.

Huge handling improvement I think. Thanks for the recommendations.

If anyone wants my old 4k front bar, send me an email. I don't need it. ausitnado16@cs.com

Default Just did the same swap on my CGT

Love it! Only a few miles of driving, but improvemnt was noticable.

I saved my original. Is there a way to swap that with the rear for added improvement? (I think I remember reading that somewhere)

I do believe you can put it on the rear if you buy some hardware...

sounds like its from an 84 - mine has the flat side bushings and c shaped brackets that slip into a slot on top and bolts on the bottom

Yep, you're right. I looked at an 86 4kq today and it was just like my 87 4k.
