Default Anyone have info on Clutch R & R for the 4k?

Searched but didn't find anything. Car is an 87 and non-quattro.

Thanks

Default No personal experience

But I cant see it being that bad. Pull the axles out, unbolt other stuff.....

Ive done more quattro transmission related stuff and more fwd VW stuff (as opposed to Audi fwd transmissions).

Not much help, but I really cant see it being that difficult, the quattro box is a behemoth! I bet the fwd box is alot lighter (but still heavy).

Default Clutch isn't too bad, you do more work to get at it then you do to fix it.......

Mainly removal of axles, exhaust, subframe, tranny...once you get to the PP, Clutch and flywheel you're golden. might as well resurface flywheel while youre that close.

More specific questions?

Default Pretty easy.

Drop the down pipe, pull the tranny/starter bolts, unhook the shifter, axles, speedo, mount, and reverse light wires and out you come.

Replace the pilot bushing if you can. Getting the tranny back in the hole is the hardest part.
