Car stopped again!!!!!!!!! Fuel pump???
Here we go again. Stopped at a stoplight and won't start up again. I tried getting it to start for about 20 minutes and nothing. It just cranks but won't start up. Some guy stopped to help and thinks it's my fuel pump. He said since you can't smell any fuel then none is getting to the engine. Then he had me turn my key to "on" and he listened for the pump. The pump was turning on but wouldn't stay "buzzing". Sound about right guys??? Where can I get a pump for cheap? I know they're about $250 new. I don't have $250!

Re: Car stopped again!!!!!!!!! Fuel pump???
I wouldn't be so sure that it is the pump. As for "wouldn't stay buzzing" comment it's incorrect. It actually should buzz for a moment, like a second or two, and then be silent. It's just priming the fuel pressure before you crank the engine with the starter. I would check if you are getting a spark.
Hopefully others will chime in with more advice.
Sorry to hear about that. Good luck with making it run again.

Did you try a different distributor like we thought you were?.........
I'm still thinking hall sender or even the ignition control monitor. Both will kill the spark and IIRC the fp. Are you double sure about the ignition switch.
