changing oil lost bently need data.
I know how to change my oil, but the on the back of the bently it said exactly how much oil to put in with a new filter, If i rember it was like 2.5 with new filter and 2.3 without a filter.
Also, I was a bit cerious about synthetic, from what I hear synthetic oil is "finer" and can acctuallly make oil leaks (read: fit through smaller openings) and also cleans some of the crap out of your engine thusly making it harder to switch back to dyno oil. I understand that there are probably a million threads about Syn. vs Dyno so feel free not to answer that one, I can STFA get my answer.
Thanks,
Richard

Just did mine yesterday...[edit]
3.5qts w/o a filter, 4qts with a filter. As for synthetic, I tried it in my 4kq and she leaked it everywhere. I stick to a "higher mileage" formula dino oil. (And I try my hardest not to look at my oil pan...it's the rustiest thing in the world and is very thin. I fear something large hitting it!)
edit: I took that info from the owner's manual. I see on the back of the Bentley where you're talking about...it's says 3.5L (3.7 US qt) with a filter change and 3.0L (3.2 US qt) without. It took mine exactly 4 with the filter change.

Re: changing oil lost bently need data.
With a new filter just drop 4 quarts in there. Bentley says less and the owners book says 4. I've done about 100 changes on the 4kq cars (my own cars) over the years and 4 quarts with a new filter (hope you're using a good one) always reads on the stick just right.
Dino vs Syn? To each his own with the stock JT (4kq) motor. You are not running a turbo so you are not subject to the high heat associated with that thing. I have run these n/a I5 motors to the 300k mark on good quality 20/50 dino with changes at 3-4k and have always had a good engine.
Leaks when switching to syn from dino?
Happened to me!

I agree on the oil change
except I run 10/40 high mileage dino even in the summer. 20/50 can get a bit thick if the temp drops below 20F with the only benefit is that it may quiet noisy lifters. Board consensus is to use Mann filters (buy them in bulk on ebay) as some off brand (including Fram) have been known to lower oil pressure at idle enough to trip the idle oil pressure light. Synthetics often don't agree with older engines and can leak from the main seals.
