Default dome light inop

my dome light is inop as I have no power to the door switches. the light works in "on" mode so there is power somewhere. where do the door switches pickup power from?

They ground against the body, have you cleaned the mounting surfaces?

Default under the dash

you have to take off the piece of the dash under the steering wheel where the cubby hole is. then remove the hood release lever and the plastic piece under it. there is a screw with a fitting and many brown ground wires clipped to it. im pretty sure thats what your looking for.

FYI that's the ground point for the complete electrical system.

Default Dome light switches GROUND the light..

The Dome light switches in the door GROUND the light to turn it on.

IF the light turns on at the switch at the light, then it has power.

As mentioned, usually the problem is that the switch is making bad contact when open (especially true on the rear doors, that aren't used as much), or the switch isn't even grounding correctly.

Undo the screw, and take out the switch. Make sure that the parts that are supposed to touch when the door opens are clean and shiny. Same with the wiring connector to the switch.

Also make sure the screw and switch has good clean contact with the body when you install the switch again.
