Default fuel guage not reading, any ideas?

the fuel gauge on the cgt doesn't move, it just stays at the bottom. i know i've got gas in it. it's been sitting for quite awhile. i beleive i have a 1/4 tank in there, remembering the last time the guage worked and adding a few gallons today.

so any ideas?

can you replace just the float, not the whole unit?

Default ive never done the job. I think you can pull it out from the top of the tank

it's not too much of a PITA to get at the top of the tank. I think Mikey (AudiSport) has done it.

make sure its not the gauge in your cluster! I was under the assumption that my level sender was shot but when I replaced the cluster the fuel gauge went right up. I know that they "usually" don't go but hey, mine did, and it would be alot better to check first instead of spending the time and money tearing into the gas tank...just my 2 cents though...
