kidquattros car is an 86 4kq. mine is an 84 4kq. i know the engines will swap. the 86 is in much better condition than the 84 and popular opinion of the guys who towed the cars says my 84 body isnt straight. so im almost convinced to do the trans swap from the 84 to the 86, which makes me a huge giant weenie bc id be doing the trans swap instead of the engine and id be bailing on my uberaudi. then again, if its bent... but that brings me to a question. i noticed on chriss 86 that the shift linkage was different. his is a fwd so it might be different in the q but is my 84 adaptable to the 86 style shifter? i know anything is possible but i dont have the welder or the funds or the time so.. if the trans isnt a direct bolt in ill be putting the good engine in my 84. which would make me happy, bent and rusted and all. so let me know what you think, we couldnt start tonight bc of noise and bad neighbors in the area but we did get both cars where they need to be. well be starting tomorrow am so whatever input you guys can throw out by then would be great. either way im on the lookout for a straight 84 4kq for my supercar.
