Default Got my parts car this past Sat...

Well, not really... had it towed to my mechanic. Paid $150.00 including the tow. It's a '83, tag on the door reads that it is 6 mo.s older than mine. only 120k on the odo, and the guy retired it "'cause it needed some kind of distributor that was really expensive." all maintanince records in the dash pocket, and I went thru them. Nothing removed from the engine bay, all lights and odo cluster intact. Seats inside are better than mine, however mine have 280,000+ on them. I was hoping that there would be audi ring mats, but NOT> Can't get in the trunk yet, so no idea what's in there yet. There's a volvo radio/equalizer in it. all window glass is intact. The little black grill below the bumper is there, a real find as mine is gone. all signage is there. The rims are the same as mine that I presently have--a bonus I didn't count on as they were stored in a different place that the car. I really hope tha the window motors are good as I could use both the right and left front motors. All door handles work! Another bonus.

Maybe I can keep my old girl on the road for a couple more years with this.

Great to have a parts car... should be able to keep yours on the road for a long time to come, I assume rust isn't an issue in North Carolina. Is the part car a 4 cylinder too?

Default Identical engine! Unfourt it's an automatic, tho.

The rims/tires wereremoved and stored inside a shed, and the brake assy's are toast sine they were in the dirt. I killed the small bulbs in the dash that I needed when I tried to remove them, alas...

Otherwise, there's no 'possums been nesting in the engine bay...

Default Sounds good..............

maybe if its not in that bad of shape, you should put work into that one and use the other as a parts car.
