Default Hey whats up new to the forum but looking for some suspension ideas

Hey what's up my name is Stefan, I have a 2002 s4 and a new(but really old)4000cs Quattro. Im looking to mod the 4Kcs soon and in looking to do a rally setup, maybe overload springs and some sways?...I donno, I know road racing and autocrossing not rallycross/roadrally!?!?! I think im looking to do a low cost(make things fun) project, little suspension work and some motor work! Any ideas.

Default well>>

get ready to do some junkyard divin. This is what owning an Audi's all about! I bought my TT so I'd have something I wouldn't have to periodically fix to make it in to the office 5 days a week (even it's not really fitting that bill). I think the best way to do a versatile suspension arrangement is to put on a set of the Ground Control coil-overs... had them on my '84 4KQ. Yeah they're about $500 and you gotta cut/weld the strut housing... but, your options are somewhat limited. As for brakes, grab a set of struts off a wrecked 1993+ 90 and use those brakes. Get the axles too. The 2 piston G60 calipers and 276mm rotors oughta provide decent stopping power for the 4kq. As for sways, you can either eliminate them entirely since you can pick your spring rates with the GC setup, or maybe do a front 4KQ sway bar on the rear... but you'll need to change or modify the subframe.

Have fun!

Default Call Shine Racing

They make springs for our cars, and you can choose the spring rate. I have been very pleased with their products on my VWs, and as soon as I can get to it, I will be installing the springs I bought from them on my 4000Q, matched up with Bilstein struts.

Shine Racing Website

Default Did you buy the springs and struts together from them

What did it all cost you if you don't mind me asking?

Default I only got the springs from them

I picked up the struts from Tuning Zubehor. I'd have to go back through my receipts to see what it all cost, but IIRC, the springs were ~$300.
