how does the fuel gauge sender come out of the tank?

Default how does the fuel gauge sender come out of the tank?

ive been giving it taps with the screw driver but barely turns. like maybe a degree or two per round of pounding.

Default if your lucky, a quick fix

Are you sure that you need to take the sender out. i had a problem with the gauge to. first check the resistance through the positive connection to a ground some where else. if there is a little resistance that means the sender is working, but the wirering is bad. i just fixed my fuel gage and that was my problem but luckily only the ground wire was broken. all i had to do was splice a ground to a nut in my trunk, and it was fixed.
