Default i have come back to the light.

4 years ago i sold my coupe gt commemorative (see: above... dirty), and i have regretted it ever since. within the next two months, i will find and buy myself a new (to me, of course) 4000csq. I am coming home.

P.S. the new owner of my cgt has since let it rot into his yard... boooo.

P.P.S. If anyone happens to come across a 4000csq in the greater new england area... i would kiss you on the mouth if you could let me know. or not kiss you on the mouth, which ever is more appealing to you.

Default I have that picture somwhere on my computer

You shouldnt have a problem finding a 4kq out east, I wouldnt think. You want something well sorted out? Any specifics, like color/interior preference?

Default Re: I have that picture somwhere on my computer

you have that pic?! cool. my screen name used to be 86CGTCOMM.
best case... i want anthracite black with whorehouse red leather.

quattro script would be nice, of course.

as for exterior, i want silver, black, tornado red, or alpine white.

the interior i can sort out after the fact if necessary.

i would like to have one that is pretty solid and ready to go from day one. doesn't have to be perfect (where's the fun in that?)

Default Sounds good

Yeah, I remember ya from way back, glad to see you around here again.
Lots of CE cars around here nowadays, and there have been some on ebay (a few CGT's).

Keep an eye on audifans or motorgeek, there are always nice cars popping up.

Carlisle is soon, should be some great cars there as well as a TON of us forum members and our whips

Default That's cool that you want to "come back" to these cars.

For some reason these cars have a certain appeal. I lost my first one in a crash, and I felt that the car saved my life. So now I have a wierd "attachment" to the cars.

What made you want another one? What did you miss?

Default They dont make em like they used to :)

I dunno how many times Ive recited that damn line after the Audi tech here in town told me. He hates working on newer cars with a passion, its funny to hear him grunt about them

There are many members on here with both oler and newer Audi's which I think is fantastic. Its an added bonus because they know that Audi made some pretty quality and robust cars back in the day.

Default to me, the audi 4000 and coupe sums up the euro car...

it's boxy, it's efficiently equipped, it feels sort of like it was carved out of one piece of iron.
i'm not totally sure what it is about them... they're not immediately attractive, they're certainly not fast, and they're not luxurious. i do love them, however.
they're just so esoterically european.

Default Its the handling...

Its very distinct compared to other cars, and damn do they corner like a bitch. I was impressed with my 4kq when I first drove it. Even with worn out 20 year old suspension components, it handled better then my much newer 95 Maxima ever did. Of course the 4kq does have less miles and 4 wheel independent suspension, but even my dearly departed 90 Maxima which had it couldn't touch that old Audi.

Default I love these cars, I have a rear sway bar ready to be installed.

That should help the handling a little bit more.
