Jerky's last stand! (reprise)...
I couldn't resist one more track day at "big Willow", I ran with "Speedventures" on Sunday.
It was hotter than hell: 103deg!
My engine temps were off the scale: water 235deg, oil 265deg. I had to slow down in the afternoon to keep the temps down!
I had a great time, ran with some incredibly cool cars, a guy in a new M3 pitted next to me, he kept telling me he couldn't keep up with me!
I often found my car MUCH faster in the corners (especialy the fast ones) than cars with twice or triple the power! I even gave a few Miatas a run in the corners (that's saying something, considering how well they handle!)!

My inspiration
Jerky;
I must say that looking at the pics of your car on the track are the inspiration I always use to remotivate myself and keep going on mine!
I have had to turn away from a day at Mosport on the 29th of this month, due to:
A) Lack of funds
b) The car still doesnt run right.
Heres hoping I can get somewhere before the end of the summer so that I can get out and play.
Cheers;

Thanks!!! I had around 10 people walk up to me and compliment my car!
Almost all of them thought I had a urquattro!
Which is OK, it gave me a chance to educate them on Audis, they also were surprised by a 5cyl engine and it's layout (way ahead of the front axle line)!
I had the event organizer ask me about my car too, he even remembered me from 1 year ago!

Sounds like a good day..!
How did the tires fare in the heat..? Mine tend to go off if its real hot like that..gets like a skating rink..LOL
Also, how was the speedventure experience..? Have you run with them before..Ive looked at their info, but I dont think they do an event out my way.
Last time at VIR I had two really great sessions running with a Miata.. one of us would lead and the other try to catch up.. it was cool to see when I would make a little error in turn how much hed gain.. and the same the other wise.. there were certain turns that the lumbering CGT would yank him by a bout 2 car lengths, the others I could just keep him behind if i executed well>>LOL It was a fun day..
Headed to Summit Point on friday for a day there.. fun track for the CGT..

Tires got pretty cooked, I played with the pressures, and as usual, I set then too high!
Which made them more slippery! I raised the pressure in the 3rd session, lowered it in the 4th session.
I drove 4 sessions: 9:30am, 11:00am, 2:15 and 4:30
the morning sessions were the fastest, the high temps in the afternon made me slow down, I think the heat also increased the tire wear...
