to keep the bolts that keep the steering 'tree' bolted down tight?
I left work yesterday, and when I hit the ignition the horn went off... ANOTHER short in the wire.
Working for the government, it took no time before the guards had surrounded my and my poor GT.
I've used thread lock, glue... and still they wind up backing out. Next, I think I'll try WELDING!
It's plagued me since I bouthg the car 8 years ago.

Nope... on the steering column...
There are three long-*** skinny bolts that bolt the wiper/signam lever to the column.
I keep tightening them but after a few weeks they back out and short the horn to ground.

Ohhhh, gotcha
Heh, my horn is kinda rigged up weird. When you replace the iggy switch, you remove this stupid compressed spring. I removed it and never installed it back. The result is the steering wheel being able to be pushed forward and back a tad. If I really push on the whole wheel hard the horn goes off . When I first got it put together the horn was on like you say.
Not that Im any help. Gotta figure out why those screws keep backing out. Not sure what would cause it

Try a dab of blue locktite on the screw threads...
Try a dab of blue locktite on the threads.
If that doesn't work, try red locktite!
If that doesn't work, you're in deep trouble, as red locktite is supposed to be almost 'permanent'.
(Not far off either, as I found out when somone had used it to help hold the rear CV joint in the rear hub..!)
As a very last resort, I'd then suggest stop using the turn signals or wipers. :-)
