Squeeking sound
I think it may possibly be the alternator belt but when Im in 5th gear and am at 2500 rpm there is a high pitched squeek coming from the front of my car. I dont know exactly where, as I am driving the car at the time and dont feel like crawling onto the hood. I just had my alternator rebuilt a cpl weeks ago and didnt notice the squeek till after I put the alternator back in. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx

Re: Squeeking sound
Try sitting aat idel or reving to 1500 and then while not driving turning on every single electrical thing you have. if its your alternator belt it will begin to squeal for sure under load and you will be albe to control how much squal by how much current is being drawn.
now to fix it!

Belt...
When I changed all may Accsy. belts along with the timing belt, I put the accsy belts back on to the reccomended tension in Bently. I found that At that tension that the belts were a little squeaky. I then tensioned them to the goudentite specification and no more squeakies... Now, I might have done a bad thing, but at least I dont have squeaky belts...
