Weighed some wheel/tire combos...
this weekend while putting away my summer wheelset.
15 x7 Borbet T with ASX 205/50: 37 lbs (yikes!)
14 x6 stock Ronal with 195/60 Comp T/A: 32 lbs
13 x 6 ATS (Cup?) with 175/70 all season tire: only 24 lbs! Wow, too bad I upped my front brake size. I did, however, have them on my 4000 for a short time a while back and they looked kinda funny on my big-bumpered car. They looked good on my '82 Scirocco and the '89 VW Fox, though.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/68233/p1010016.1.jpg">
And, just for kicks, a rim from my '77 Audi Fox (why do I keep this stuff?): 13 lbs
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/68233/p1010015.1.jpg">
Now I'm thinking I need a lighter wheel/tire combo for the summer. Even switching to the winter set (which I did not weigh, but is on stock rims) I can tell the acceleration is better.

don't feel too bad... I bet the daily driver pair of wheels on my A4 are close to
50lbs a piece w/ tires! Wheels are about 26 lbs, and I bet the tires are probably 20lbs or so. Suckers weigh a TON, and are esp noticable when taking them off to put on my track rims (OZ SLs) which feel like featherweights in comparison.

15" x 7" Enkei RP F-1: 9.5lbs, 225/45-15" Toyo RA-1's are about 20lbs...
Enkei's are 10lbs. lighter than my street Borbets with 205's on them.
That's 40lb difference of unsprung weight!!!
The difference in 1st. and 2nd. gear is massive!!
The car is absolutey explosive off the line, high speed lane changes are so sensitve (no gyroscopic effect), I barley breathe on the steering wheel and the car changes lanes....
Of course now that the RA-1's are worn down to slicks, they drive like **** on the street, the ride is stupid harsh and the car jumps all over the place at the nearest hint of a crack or uneveness in the road.
On the track, they're perfect, the car pulls 1.3 g's according to my G-tech meter!!

I got's my 1" Doge caravan rear sway mede by Addco...
It's stupid huge, the car will definately get the rear out on the track if I'm not careful.
After all the suspension and alignment work I've done, the car can be too loose sometimes, especialy at high speed.
I'm setting the front end up for next "season" with even stiffer springs, from 380lbs. to 500lbs, stock is around 175lbs!

I think the G-tech (the old one, anyway) tops out at 1.3G...
Who knows, you might be pulling more than that!
But, I have also seen a stock or near-stock BMW Z3 (?, some little convertible) pull that number down with a G-tech at an autocross event. I wonder if that reading just happens during a bump or oscillation during a corner and isn't really a steady-state number. It could be on your race car, though.
I got a G-tech a few years ago when BF Goodrich was giving away one if you bought a set of peformance tires. I needed new tires anyway, so I got some 195/60-14 Comp T/As for ,like, $48 dollars each at the TireRack and got the G-tech sent in the mail. I think at the time the thing was around $179. What a deal for me! I have only used it a couple of times on the street and when I finally went autocrossing one time I forgot all about it!
Thanks for the info on your wheel/tire setup.
