Default Windshield and rear window trim

The black plastic strip that is installed into the windshield and rear window rubber gasket is shrinking. Does this happen to all of the cars and has anyone replaced it. At the bottom of the rear window, the gap is at least 4". I guess it's possible that there might be a cover that is missing, but I doubt it.

If you replaced it, did you get it from a dealer or is there another source?

Thanks,

Jon

Normally, there is a metal piece that goes over the joint between the two ends. You may want to check other cars or at the dealer to see if this applies to yours. Those inserts do shrink over time, but it's just annoying. Doesn't hurt anything.

Any old windsheild repair place can fix that trim for you probably pretty cheap....Just ask them to fix it...it's a universal trim peice and they can fix it no prob.
