Default 1.95+bar with megasquirt - r-mod?

To all megasquirt users,

when retaining the MAC ecu for ignition, do you still need to run the resistor mod when running past 1.95bar? Anything over 2bar I feel stumbling/surging, more the higher the boost.... As far as I understood I did not have to run the r-mod as that mod was supposed to be only to turn off the fuel pump but perhaps in the MAC14, it also yanks the timing back...

Thanks!

I think you answered your own question... The timing maps top out when the PT hits it's maximum. If the ECU is seeing an overboost condition all the safety measures will be implemented to save the engine. You probably want to retard the timing a little for significantly more boost. When the fuel cut signal is given there are other things that are shut off in addition to the fuel pump. Check your wiring diagram. I got stung by this when I was playing with bypassing the fuel cut.
