200 20V hot shifter/e-brake area
Hey guys,
I'm getting my 200 20v back on the road after sitting 2 years. I'm slowly getting things sorted. She got new tire rods all round today. Driving I notice the console area around the shifter and e-brake is getting very warm. I took the little trim piece off of the console and could feel hot air coming through as I drove down the road. I thought I was making a deal out of nothing or was not used to it since I have not been driving the car. When I got home I pulled the shift boot and it was definitely hot in that area. Is there a heat shield or some sort of guard I am missing? I'll check the condition of my shift linkage boot later. I don't remember either of my 5ktq's getting warm in this area.
Thanks!
Jason

Hmm, yeah I didn't think of that! Makes sense too, as the car was owned by someone who had no idea that this particular car requires somewhat special care and had been running 87 octane fuel. So it's hard to tell what sort of other things are wrong. I thought it may be the trans, heat shield missing, or something to do with the boot for the linkage.
