200 flywheel

200 flywheel
Does anyone know if the 200 flywheel is a straight swap into a 5ktq? More specifically, do I need anything other than the flywheel to swap it over? I know these are lighter and I can probably get one dirt cheap. Just a thought since the engine will be out anyway.

Should be fine... BUT....
you will need to break off the long test pins on the back side of the flywheel. The bell housing is shaped differently and they will collide and break off. Remove them beforehand. Just be sure to leave the short crank ref. pin on the other side! BTDT!

IIRC, you need a different clutch kit.
I can't remember now.
I did the flat flywheel, and used a 7a PP and kennedy disc. I'm 99% sure i had to use a clutch kit from an mc2, 3b or 7a to coincide with the flat flywheel.
hth, email me if you wanna chat more buddy.

My '89 MC1 had a flat flywheel...
Perhaps the change happened when the MC1 was installed in the '89 models? I have a... damn... had a locking tranny in the Avant rather than the torsen. The clutch was fine so I didn't replace it. I did replace the flywheel to have the missing crank ref pin sorted out once and for all. What we noticed upon reassy was that there was a horrific noise. We shut it off and started to poke around and see what was wrong. It was then that we noticed the bent pins and removed them. This really surprised us since we turned the motor over by hand and there were no contact issues. They must deflect when spinning just enough to be a problem. I can only conclude from this that the bell housing must be just different enough to cause problems. Weird.
