Default 2018 Grassroots Motorsports Challenge Help

We just picked up an 86 5000 Turbo Quattro 5 speed wagon to enter. The car is in great shape with no issues to speak of. I've done a bit of searching and have some ideas, but unfortunately a lot of the info I'm finding is old. I'd love fresh input on how others would build this car.

Thanks,
Jim

At this point we're lowered with H&R springs, Monroe replacement struts, 225/45/17 Federal 595 RS-RR with spacers up front. The shift linkage is adjusted (We paid $800 for the car because it only had 2nd and 4th). Fuel cut is bypassed and we are running 16psi. The exhaust is next on the list performance wise.

We have removed the bumper structures and supports which with some new brackets and cutting allowed us to bring the bumper covers in two inches. This also obviously cut weight out of the car. Paint is next on the agenda.

At this point we are roughly $1,500 worth of documented expenses in the car.

Check out Motorgeek.com if you haven't already. This is where all the Type44 people used to hang out when you could find them in good condition. Also, lets see some pics!

Looks good! No roof rails makes for a clean look.

We've done a bit of weight removal, boost gauge install, and misc.

I'll post up some new pics next weekend. We hope to have the exhaust done, and nitrous plumbed.

I think the decision has been made not to paint the car. We are just going to let it be old.

The most difficult part we are having is how clean the car is. We don't want to just tear everything out of it. We also plan on driving it from Arizona to the event so some of the creature comforts like AC might be nice.

We are in at at roughly $1,700 at this point.
