Default 87 5kcstq ABS question

Alright so I've got an 87 5kcstq. The i always have anti-lock brakes on by default. This winter, during the first snowfall, that little "anti-lock off" indicator came on and i just assumed it came on automatically when the all-wheel drive kicked in (although that makes no sense, i know). so yeah, now ABS wont turn back on and that sucks. do you think i could have blown a fuse? or do you think it is mechanical? i remember when i was first trying to get out of the snow, i spun the wheels in reverse reallllly fast and i might have redlined it. could that have done something to screw up ABS? ok im babbling now. any input would be much appreciated.
thanks
chris

Default abs

The ABS is supposed to turn off only when the diffs are locked. (either center or both) If it won't turn back on my first thoughts would be either the center diff is still locked (you would notice this when the car is going around tight turns from a horrible noise and bad handling) or the fuse is blown. Even if you have the switch turned off it's possible that the vacuum lines aren't working and it is still on. Try turning the center diff on and off to see if it still works. Then check the fuse.

Driving in reverse shouldn't do anything to hurt the ABS.

Most likely you need to clean or replace one or more of your wheel speed sensors...

Also check the fuse on top of the ABS relay...

i havent checked the relay cause i wasnt able to locate when i first looked for it. all those little relay+fuse roadmaps of mine are pretty tarnished at this point, its hard for me to read them. would anyone be able to tell me where the relay is and/or what the relay type number is?

thanks

It's under the dash...

You'll have to remove the "dash access panel" to get to it...

It's the only relay that will have a fuse in it...
