Big Wiper Problems
Here is an odd one!
This week my wipers began working strangely! When ever I turn off my wipers now, they stop striaght up and down on the windshield instead of across the bottom. This happens also when I use the intermittent wiper mode. The wipers then delay straight up and down on the windshield as well.
Any ideas on how to correct this? Any comments are welcome!
Thanks
Jamie

bad wiper motor
I have the same problem.
Temporary relief is by pulling off the wiper relay from the under hood fusebox. Then you can manually park the wipers.
The wiper motor's gears are likely worn out. Within the assembly, is an 'electrical' position indicator for the 'at rest' position. The motor probably slipped, while the wipers were stationary. Thus, the indicator and actual 'at rest' position is no longer aligned.
Mine happened after prolonged usage of my wipers on high speed. I noticed the wiper arms hesitated momentarily after oscillating. Perhaps the assembly was overheated.
HTH.
