boost mod and outo trans ???
so im haveing my fwd auto trans rebuilt and i was woundering that it is said that an a/t cant handle large boost. what exactly goes on the a/t though? does anyone know exactly what goes? can it just be rebuilt if it does go out? im thinking off getting the lifetime warrenty and boosting the heck out of it or is this a bad idea thanks

I wouldn't recommend it...
Most people experience tranny failure soon after.
There's one guy on here who's done it and hasn't had any problems yet.
Yet being the keyword.

Well, If you haven't noticed, no one likes automatics (Myself included)
HOWEVER... Anyone who you talk to who says 2 months after you chip it the thing will blow seems to me to be a bit anxious to bitch about the AT. My ca's been Chipped for more then a year, 1/2 of that being the QlCC, just about the most extreme you can get with CIS. (AFAIK)
That being said, when you say "Boost the Hell out of it" you may be looking for trouble. I have my fun, but that means that you (usually) stay out of the high boost when its going to shift a lot, etc... and no more then 1.8 bar.
And as for the laughter at my meager 1/4 mile times, you're right, my best has been a 16.2. but how many of your cars are going to be THAT much faster then mine, if you start from the line without dumping the clutch at 5K and holding on for dear life. With no boost off the line (I mean like, wait for the light and slam your foot on the gas) its a bit of a joke, I'm not stupid.
Its great, I'm a kid who actually likes these things, and ya'll mock me cause I run 2 sec slower then you... though XCell... how fast is that "beast" you have?

didnt say mine was any faster.. i just always thought you had a tq like most of us
i was slightly disspaointed so much work has gone into something that doesnt seem like its worth it IMO... i never was giving you **** or mocking you. like i said its too bad it looks faster with that thing up front. I'm a kid too man. just relax... u'll get thorugh this.

You seem pretty talented with this car...
With all the metal work and mods you've done, I'd say that putting a 5spd in there might not be out of your league.
Or, if you do come across a black 5spd quattro, most of your mods should moce over relatively easily.

ill get the warrenty and go 1.8 and all will be well thanks for your input by the way the car cost me 300 and the rebuild is 2000 does this seem wrong or what my wife says why dont i just give up and get a new car but i seem to have gotten attached to the f**king thing
