Can't get over 2.0BAR...
Hey all, I'm now running EFI and can't seem to get past 2.05BAR.
I am running a 1.9BAR spring (from Ben Swann) with a MBC.
I have all three lines still going to the WGFV, but I disconnected the outlet that went to the wastegate and plugged it. I then plumbed in a new line off the manifold to the inlet of my MBC and the MBC outlet is going to the wastegate.
I tried first with a manual boost controller and was only able to go from 1.82 to about 1.89-1.9 even with the MBC cranked. After doing some research I decided that I should do the adjustable wastegate mod.
Did that today, installed it with a few turns in and I can hit around 2.03. I turned it in another 2-3 full turns and only hit about 2.06. I am monitoring the boost with datalogging with megasquirt.
Should I keep preloading the spring with the bolt or am I missing something? At the rate I'm turning the bolt it seems like going for 2.20 or more is close to impossible.
Thanks!

probably need to play with your VE table some more
I know that when I was running really rich I wasn't able to generate much boost, after I leaned it out I saw high boost no problem.
what turbo you running?
HTH, Jon

AFR's
I'm only running mid 11's to low 12's like what I was told to run at on the safe side. Can that actually stop the increase in boost? I'm running a K26 with a 3B SPIC.

what are you using to measure the boost?
It sounds to me like there is something VERY wrong. Are those numbers coming from the MS system? I would tend not to doubt them if that's the case.
With a crappy k26 I was able to spool FrankenAudi to 21 PSI on a good day and 19 PSI otherwise. And that was using a modded CIS system, MBC, Swann spring, chipped and r-modded ECU as measured on an oil filled pressure gauge.
Sounds to me like you have an intake leak Do you have a BPV installed? If not then maybe you popped the MM or the like on the pressurised intake path and it is acting like a relief valve.

Re: what are you using to measure the boost?
Ya I am using datalogging and megasquirt to measure boost levels. Yes I've got a BPV installed.
You think its a boost leak even though I can consistantly attain ~205kpa?

very easily could be a boost leak with those numbers
I was consistently only getting around 12-13 psi for a while with my MS due to some nasty boost leaks. all the leaks were small enough to hold some pressure, but not enough. I fixed it by getting an air compressor to pressurize the entire intake tract and then had soapy water spray all over the tubing/intercooler/t-body/IM. Found lots of wonderful leaks! t-bolt clamps fixed almost all of them. I turns out I had one big leak in my throttlebody modification, fixed it and was making 20psi the next day.
good luck.
