Car starts easily but won't hold on ...
This 89 200 turbo starts right up. But it will die in a few seconds if I don't give gas. If I keep giving gas for a minute or two, the car will run well. This only happens when the car is cold. Warm start has no problem at all. Does this mean a bad cold start valve or something else?

Cold start valve is only used in starting the car and in acceleration (give an extra shot of fuel when you floor the car). Check the ISV and also check for vaccum leaks.

Mine does this too. I suspected the warm up regulator and tried cleaning it but to no avail. Since the car runs fine I've been leary of making it worse by tinkering too much with the fuel pressure etc.

Try cleaning the ISV first. If that doesn't help then suspect among other things, the warm up regulator. May be time to check out the junk yards.

Is it the fuel injector?
I changed the spark plug yesterday. No change as you would think. Then I dumped a can of injector cleaner into the tank and top up with gas. I drove the car about 24 miles after that. This morning the car started up and idled without any problem. I will check on warm up regulator and ISV also. Thanks a lot guys.
