Default Cone Air FIlter & Optima Battery

Hi all I was wondering what sized cone air filters people are using. Pictures would be great. Is there any reason to not use a cone air filter and stick with the stock air box?

Second I need to get a new bettery. I searched and found info on the Optima's that i'm interested in. But I havnt came across an Optima model number I could order by mail. Would hate to have to ship a bettery back if I got the wrong size. Thanks!

You cant eliminate the factory airbox as it's part of the fuel injection. Get a k&n panel filter.

second what black-wolf said, the factory airbox is all incorporated into the cis injection. (metered air).. this is also why many people run into issues when running higher boost on cis fueled cars and want to run bpv's.. you have to recirculate the air and not vent, if you vent to the air you run rich between shifts, and could run into further issues.

with the optima- i run one of these batteries. my friend bought one for his integra about 2 years back and swears by it now, it's a nice compact battery, more power than the oem battery. and fits in the factory, under-seat, location. this is the optima red top. i'm not sure about the yellow top specs or sizes. good luck

the posts are slightly higher on the optima than the oem battery, so you may want to use something other than the oem plastic pos. terminal cover.. i used an old rubber floor mat and just covered the whole top... less fire risk in general.

Default You can pick up optima's at Autozone, Pep Boys, Advanced Auto Parts, etc..Ordering by mail would be

quite expensive to ship...Stick with the red top, unless you have a massive audio system..The red top has superior cranking power, the yellow top has deep cycle reserve capacity, and the blue top is a hybrid of the two...

Default Red top....

I was always planning on the red top because I was under the impression that deep cycle is more for RV's and applications where the charging was fare and few between. THis is a daily driver so the red top was the battery I was going to get. But I am curious why you said if I had a massive stereo I would want to use the yellow top???? I do have quite the stereo but I thought that deep cycle batteries still would not be the way to go? Thanks.
