Filling up my radiator on a 5000 (just changed), they shipped blue coolant instead of pink

You want the blue Pentosin stuff.
It's called Longlife Antifreeze. The pink stuff (called Lifetime Antifreeze) is for use in all-aluminum engines.
I forget about mixing rules. My guess is that they shouldn't be mixed.

Coolant compatibility chart. FWIW, someone who wants a silicated G-11-type coolant can use TEXACO.
I use MB/Xerex G-05 in all cars. Too many reasons to explain.

Damn, can't find the chart. Basicly everything mixes with everything, EXCEPT high-silicated old Prestone/G-11 mixes with nothing.

No. Don't mix pink with blue. You'll get purple. Purple is not good.
I can't recall why, but I just had this conversation with one of the most reputable mechanics in Denver who definitely knows an absurd amount on the subject of cooling.
Pink is definitely better than blue (though blue is still really quite good) but to do a conversion you need to run through about 4-5 cycles of pure distilled water (fill it up, run it for a while, drain it... repeat 4-5 times)
Then you can go ahead and run pink (the better stuff).
Unless you are tracking the car or something where you need the slightly better cooling than blue... just stick with the blue - apparently the hassle of switching over is a bitch.
