Help i might be turning bad!!!!!! or should i say " sane"
Got to drive a Dodge Magnum as a rental last week and liked it alot (only a v6) it was punchy and very roomy so i looked on line to get all the data, i knew they built an AWD model i just didnt know that it came in the R/T model too,,,,,, i could return to my teenage days when i had a 68' dodge charger r/t 440 mag
but with 4 doors ,wagon versatility and AWD not to mention that big Dodge HEMI ( lets not start the "its not a HEMI" saga) now the v6 is not as responsive as my V8Q but close.
And thier was a bit too much plastic stuff in the interior. But all and all was a plesent surprise.
Anyone have the chance to drive one?

i've driven one as a rental .. they're alright.
but here is some good advice for you and anybody else for that matter. Have you ever gone to a city on vacation and had a blast?! Man, it was fun as hell, so many tourist things to do and so many things to see. Always busy having fun. But you only stay for a week and come back to your city where its cold, damp, ugly, and dead. So you decide to up and move to that city. The first few months you're excited about the opportunity to explore the new city .. but after a while .. it becomes boring again. Nothing to do. Nowhere to go. Same thing with that car. Yeah, its nice to have .. but it is nice to OWN! I personally think its a great idea to have at least ONE car that you don't have to worry about working on. A car that if it breaks down, you drive in to your local dealer and let the warranty cover the work. Now this is if finances permit to own such a car. oh gosh .. reminds me of a song from my middle school dances ... LOL .. "don't go chasing waterfalls, stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to"
Now this is all coming from a guy who just committed his V8q to someone else. So I just came from outside .. started the car up, sat inside it for 15min. Started collecting my things from the car. I have NEVER felt this sad about getting rid of a car. NEVER!! This damn beast .. I would continue to dump money over money over money into this damn car if I didn't have to concentrate on school. I'm not gonna get all mushy on you guys .. if you owned you .. than you'll understand.

They are going to be discointinued.Get one while you can. They run about like a Tip 2.7 TT allRroad
The HEMI has the cylinder deactivation features, but is not all that much of a performer in that car unless you got the SR/T package. The AWD does not comnpare to the newer Audi systems but is far advanced over the old cars with stab control etc. The good parts of the car are based on M/B or Daymler Chrysler bits and peices when they were friends.
Undoubtedly the reliability over the allRoad is better as miles mount but there is the big difference in build quality in favor of the Audi.

Drove an R/T last year.
Performance wise it was fun.Handled better than a car that size "Made in the USA" should.
Interior courtesy if Igloo coolers . Nasty.
Just rent one for a weekend. Its more enjoyable than owning it.
Now the SRT....is a little more Daimler-Chrysler and something I wouldn't kick out of my garage.

There is a reason that Daimler dumped Chrysler!
I'd stay well clear of any Chrysler or Dodge product.
I mentioned this a while ago... my GF leased a 2005 X-drive 3 series BMW. With only 59,000kms (30k miles) the transmission exploded. Sure it was replaced under warranty but it took them more than 4 visits to get it all put back togteher right.
Why do I mention this? Because a 'new' car does not necessarily mean a reliable car.
My dear sweet FrankenAudi was my test bed car that I punished as hard as I could. ran dangerously low A:F and heard popcorn sounds from undere the hood many times while I was tuning my A:F. Blew the passenger side tranny seal as well. Lost all kinds of gear oil. Since I had a spare I figued I would see how far I could drive the beast before the tranny packed it in. It didn't. Even being abused by a 21 PSI boosted motor couldn't kill it with half the gear oil.
I say if you have the money to spend on a new car just set up an account and call it the "If I Leased A Car Money To Spend On Audi Restoration Fund". ;-) I was leasing an A4. Yech. Gave it back.

Am I the only one that sees future problems....
with the "Cylinder Deactivation" for increased gas mileage? I'd put a dollar on a bet that ten years or so from now, there'll be all sorts of ignition problems traced back to that so-called "feature".
Cheers!
