How do you tell whether a an '89 200 has an MC1 or MC2? From the VIN?

How do you tell whether a an '89 200 has an MC1 or MC2? From the VIN?

Count the knock sensors...Easier than VIN

What if you're not near the vehicle and only have its info?

Default VIN = Guestimate...

Split is supposedly at 44-K-020000.

MC1 or MC2, does it really matter?

Chip & spring yielding 230hp on the MC1 are under $100 total if you go the QLCC route
