How does V8 Quattro do in the Winter?
I'm currently looking at a 1991 V8 Quattro and I am a little concerned about how it will fair in the snow. I do plan on getting winter tires for it though. Thanks.

Ain't nothin better...
Than a big V8 with four wheel drive and winter snow tires. When used rationally, the quattro system can get you out of virtually any winter condition. Just don't think you're invisible...countless number of times, I've seen doorknob drivers with A4Q's cutting corners at 80km/h on snowed roads thinking their invisible. Within seconds, their rear ends swing them right into the ditch.
It's a great car for the winter, and an excellent ride. You should be good to go with good quality snow tires. I have Michelin Pilot Alpins, and they work great in the snow.

Invisible, hmm? How about invincible ;-)
And btw, a 1st gen quattro with snow tires is better than a 2nd gen (TorSen w/rear locker) or even a 3rd gen (only installed in the V8q, TorSen w/rear TorSen).
Heck, the 5kq with M&S's on it did better than the CQ did on M&S's. The 5kq was the car of choice when I had to drive through a blizzard a few years ago. Ran it the entire time with the diffs locked. It was so cold out, the winterized windshield washer fluid froze over. And it was so windy, that my friend lost the hood to his Prelude on I69 (he was following me as I made holes in the 1-3' drifts over the highway, as was an Indy State Police cruiser).

Oops! Musta been sleeping..lol..
True the 1st gen quattro is the better option between the two...I took advantage of that when I swapped my tranny from auto to 5spd on the V8...so now I have locking diffs as well as a rear Torsen.
Personally, I just like the feel of a big V8 holding wintery roads. Either T44 does extremely well in the snow.
