Default Hydro Booster?

have an 87 5000 S quattro. lost all fluid in my pwr steering resevoir and then lost my pwer brakes. does anyone know where the leak could be? inspected the hoses...but unsure of the pressure hose...the rubber dress that was on the hose was bloated so i thought that was the problem. I cut that off and the hose beneath it was still perfect. This car say for about 8 months before i could actually move it (no insurance, registration, plates, etc.) and i checked my fluids before I moved it and they were fine til i got to the gas station. Looked under the car and saw something dripping underneath. Dad checked it out and said it was the brakes but now im positive its the power steering. Just dont know where. I just bought a liter of MHF 7.1 that ill somehow pour it in and then see where shes leaking. Anyone know anything else, please let me know.

And what Audis had the Hydro Booster Brakes? The Foreign Car Parts store down the road has never heard of my setup. I have no Vacuum booster...instead it uses the 7.1 fluid from the power steering. (they are a german auto store so if anyone needs any parts let me know...im in State College, PA)

Default clean off the entire engine, top and bottom, fill the resevoir and put the car in the air running ..

with someone in it. look around with a drop light while the guy in the car moves the wheel back and forth and presses on the brakes. you should be able to see where the oil it coming from...

thats my next step...or was my next step. I did find my leak. Its not the rack n pinion or the pump. Its on the master cylinder. Which means, i have to remove it again...and I just got done bleeding my brakes.

Default Re: Hydro Booster?

Found it. It is the sensor that is behind the master cylinder. The washer broke allowing the fluid to squeeze past the threads and out.

Thanks for the help guys.
