I must be cursed. Brake woes again.
I was right when I wrote, "let's see what goes wrong this weekend."
I spent the afternoon installing my replacement rear carrier bracket pin that was donated by a fellow audiworld lister. (mucho thanx again!)
That went on easily, so I decided to go over the tech inspection list that I must pass before my NHIS driving class tomorrow. I check the suspension for tightness, the tires, the brakes. The driver's rear brake hose is questionable, I tried to detach it from the brake line fitting, no go. Seems seized although I had it apart no problem just 3 years ago for new calipers. I made a mental note of it to do next time and proceeded to remount the wheel. Then I noticed drops. The damn line at the Tee started leaking.
|-P
A little wiggling earlier had cracked the rusty line. And I was just about to hit the road back to MA. F#$%@#%$#K!!
Fortunately, PepBoys actually had a Raybestos line that will work, but now I must grind off the other seized fitting.
Unfortunately, it's 7pm, it started to pour like mad with lightning and thunder the moment I got the cutting wheel on my Dremel.
8:23pm and awaiting the rain to let up so I can grind of old line, bend a new line, then still have to bleed said caliper, pack up and race home to make the 9am class, rain or shine.
I'm beginning to get superstitious. I must have pissed off someone in a past life.
I'm really beginning to question why am I putting all this effort into this car.
Oh well, at least it didn't happen on the road, that would be worse.

Done.
Sparks from a cutting wheel at night looks really cool. Cut off the old fitting, bent the new line into place, new brake hose, and mityvac bleeding. I'm back on the road. I guess I'm too stubborn to quit.
11:15pm...NH here I come.
