Default K26/RS2 hybrid turbo upgrade (group buy) for less than $300

So I've been looking into increasing the flow of my k24 and previously installed k26 because I can't make more than 16-17psi of boost by redline. So I was looking other turbo options and RockinV8q got me into thinking about just ordering the RS2 comp. compressor wheel and housing and bolting them onto a standard k26 turbo.

He'd had a k26 before rebuilt by majestic turbo and upgraded with RS2 coldside some time ago (or maybe it was a customer of his) and it had excellent performance. This is/was apparently a pretty common upgrade back in the day and possibly is still something that porsche 944 guys do to juice up their k26's.

So I've spent about a week and a half trying to locate the part numbers, do research and get a good price on these things if I do a group buy. I actually e-mailed about 30 different kkk/borg warner turbo distributors across the country looking for information. I was on the phone with one of the technicians in customer service for Borg Warner USA and he helped tremendously.

so I've got a guy who has figured out the right housing and compressor wheel to order. I'm still not 100% positive on whether the backplate from the stock k26 will work, but my confidence is close to 100%...probably 98% sure. Sure enough that I'm going to order at least one wheel and housing for myself.

So the cost isn't nailed down yet as I'm still looking for the best deal out there. Additionally these parts are pretty rare and hard to come by, especially in this country. It is likely that they will need to be shipped from Germany which could take anywhere between 1-3 months depending upon stock.

Freight charges and tax are up in the air as well. Bottom line is to expect to pay ~$300 but to be happy if it comes out to being $250 or less. I'm still going to make more phone calls and send more e-mails but I'd probably need half the money up front and the rest when the turbos are in. If you'd like to pay me all up front that'd be fine, too...I certainly don't want you to give me half and then tell me you can't afford to pay the other half.

First come first serve...i've got 4 on the list already. Stock may be limited??? It may come down to 10 people wanting them and I'll have to say sorry to the last two people on bored cause I may only be able to get 8. Who knows.

Default I think you will find that...

If you have the specs on the parts you need then you will find that a nissan turbo will provide some answers. Sorry I can't be more help but apparently the guy I bought a used Rs2 replica from, who originally bought it from someone reputable, said he ground off the nissan markings because he didn't want japanese parts in his Audi. Food for thought. Also, this reputable Audi parts supplier forgot a gasket when assembling the turbo so it was rebuilt and while it was out he had the grinding done.

Default just did some research, they used Garrett.

and what I meant earlier was, I didn't think that Nissan was a brand of turbocharger, like the others that I listed...I still don't think it was, but I could be wrong. The certainl used Garrett turbochargers on their cars in the 80's (300Z,240sx,etc.)

Default Perhaps is was a Nissan PN he ground off... either way... no markings left on it...

and it does match the Rs2 cold and hot side inlet/outlet sizes.
