Default leaking core plug, how to go about R&R

got my 87 5ktq up and running installed the qlcc chip from ben with spring. The car really flys now, but of course i have a new problem. The core plug or frezze plug, what ever you want to call it is leaking. The plug that is leaking is also where the block heater plugs in, right behind where the turbo bolts on, they look to be one piece. I dont care about the block heater and was wondering if I could just put in a regular plug. The other question I have is if anyone has taken these out before in the car, just hit it sideways with a drift and pull it out? Ive put them in but never had to take them out. Any btdt would be appreciated. I wish I would have seen this when i had the head off a few weeks ago thanks in advance
