Default Locked up E-brake

This morning I went and got in my car and started down the drive when I noticed that my car was unusually low on power. So I pushed in the clutch and was going to let the car warm up a bit, but before I pushed in the brakes I noticed that I was already sitting still. Somehow my emergency brake is now locked up only on the passanger side. I just got done taking a ride, thinking that maybe it was just frozen, so I tried to warm it up a little. Well when I got back I figured out that it got really warm. I smelled burning and so I through snow at the disc to see if it was warm and the snow instantly steamed off...I'm in need of some help. What could cause this, and how can I remedy this problem? Thanks

Default Most likely the e-brake cam on the caliper is frozen...

You can tap it back into position with a hammer and go on your merry way.

Remedy is too not use your ebrake anymore or replace caliper.

Default Ditto, I'm facing the same problem. ordered new calipers...

It could be the calipers or the ebrake cables themselves causing your problem.

Default On the back of the caliper, ebrake cable runs to cam lever, you should see the return spring also..

try turning it back against the stop(bolt that holds the end of the spring).
