So after spending the weekend replacing the 40 or so Capacitors ( green things in picture ) ... I have success , well 3 out of 4 .

I can't believe the difference in my system since doing the work . I use to turn the Bose on and on full volume you could hear the music but, it was low volume and wavy sounding. Now I can't put the system on full volume as it is just too loud . I'm a happy and should of done this fix along time ago.
One of the rear speaker card was totally gone even after I did the fix ... so if any one has a rear speaker card 048 4102 . I would love to have it . ( buy )

I have a 6x9 Bose amp/speaker (that works) I just took out of my 1991 200t. If you want it, you can have it for the cost of shipping.

Hey Dave,

Do you have a list of capacitors (mfd and voltage) and the quanity that you replace? Did you purchase the capacitors from digikey?

In the attachment is a list of all the Old Capacitors and replacement caps/company/qty (pg 5 ) ... I bought all these from digkey and got them the next day ...Excellent company to deal with.

What I did was took all the capacitors off one of the rear boards and mulitplied qty by 4 ... the front boards don't have as many caps.

&gt; if you do this fix shoot me a mail for some tip and tricks ... or send them to me and I'll do the job . ( one beer per hour cost :-)

Had some fun slamming the 86 around with a front loader to get those wheels unseized/removed. Let me know if you want one.

Is that your actual amp? Usually the later ones have the plug and play pig tail vs directly soldered of the earlier ones? I ask because mine were different on board layout and much more crowded and didn't have the toothed fence around the board.

well the picture is very very close to what my board looked like. The toothed fence is the back plate and then there is a lid that snaps over the top of the whole unit(Card ). 93V8
